The Nicholson Inn has long been known for its convenience, quality and comfort. We are located in the heart of Freeport’s shopping-restaurant district and less than 500 steps from LL Bean.

This home has been a Freeport landmark since 1925. Norman and Martha Nicholson acquired the building in 1930 and for some 25 years it was a well-known “overnight guest home”. The tradition is being carried on by their granddaughter Jane and her husband Alden. Working with love and respect for the Inn’s architectural integrity the Grants have renovated and modernized the facility giving careful thought to providing the maximum amount of comfort and convenience guests could imagine.

Constant comments from guests, many of who have been returning for 15 years, compliment the delicious, full Down-Maine breakfasts and the warm and friendly atmosphere of the Inn. Jane and Alden are Maine natives who are able to share travel-tips with their guests and often point them to some of the “lesser-known jewels” Maine has to offer.

Several outstanding restaurants are within walking distance while Portland, Yarmouth and Brunswick are only a short drive away. Outdoor activities abound with three State Parks nearby offering hiking, biking, picnicking, swimming and kayaking. Several excellent golf courses are within a half-hour drive of the Inn.

Reservation Policy:

· A 50% deposit confirms your reservation

· Deposit is refundable, less a 10% service charge, up to 48 hours before scheduled arrival

· For multiple night stays, the deposit will be applied to the last night's lodging. The balance will be due at check-in.

· Payment can be made by personal checks, travelers checks or cash. We do not accept credit cards.

· We regret that we do not have facilities for small children or pets
